I was inspired to draw this at first because I was reading Jane Austin's Emma. Later I decided to add vampire teeth to the man. :P I'm not sure why I did but vampires are cool right?!

One more week till Christmas vacation!

Noel Night 2009

Detroit had its first snow 3 days ago but only for a split second! What a tease! Saturday was Noel Night in downtown Detroit. I love Noel Night so much! I've never seen the city so happy and crowded with Holiday cheer!! Even though there was no snow at least the streets where save for driving!

Chris and I set up a table together along with other students and alums. As soon as noel night officially started the building was packed with tons people! It was fun to talk to so many people that live in Detroit or the surrounding suburbs. I was so busy at my table that I wasn't able to walk around and see my friends tables so that was the only bummer!

Since this wasn't a comic-con it was interesting to see how excited people reacted when stumbling across Chris and Shane's comic Reed Gunther.

I wish I had a photo of our table to show but unfortunately Chris and I still use disposable cameras.Haha!

I sold prints, my book, buttons, and $5 Sketches!

We covered our table with craft paper so when I needed a break I'd sit and doodle the people walking around us.

Here's a doodle of Amy Hojnacki, who also had a table two floors above us! I love her work!

This was the best Noel Night yet! Who knows where I'll be living this time next year since I'll be done with school in May. Hopefully I'll be able to make it back for many more chilly Noel Nights in Detroit.

These boots are made for walking!

The cowboy in the middle is suppose to be cussing up a storm using the words from a funny articular in Esquire Magazine. I decided to photoshop the swear words out since it would be somewhat out of place on this blog.

Since I'm working on alot of projects at one time I don't have many finished pieces to show right now so I thought I'd let you peek inside my sketchbook!
I love having my sketchbook around everywhere i go because you never know when you'll see someone or something that you just HAVE to draw!
This is the cover and back cover. Haha alot of people have been asking what the cover illustration is exactly... Its a raccoon girl in pounce mode! Okay?! :)

The famous duo Bill and Alisha where married Sept 25th,09! The wedding was great fun and I'm really happy for the two! In fact I drew this because they looked so gosh darn cute during the wedding. Right now they're hanging out in Japan! Wow!

I know a lot of people make this claim but MY grandma is the best cook ever! You haven't had cheesecake till you've had one made by Mary Scimemi aka my grandma! Well I wish some of her cooking skills would rub off on me. Instead I cook more like my dad, everything is buttery and fried!

So here is a first illustration of a cooking collection I'll be doing.

I think I was inspired to draw this due to all the weddings that have happened this summer! While I was drawing this I looked out the window above my desk and saw a bride and groom riding in a carriage pulled by a horse. haha. :P

The Draw Sucka! Draw!'s fierce Food Fight has begun! To fight in this epic battle you must illustrate your own warrior. The warrior must be a food that follows the theme that is decided.

If you have been following my blog for a year you might remember last year around this time my fighter was The Cannoli Sisters! The food theme then was Italian food. This years theme is "bar food"! Well The Cannoli Sisters lost but this year will be different because Nothing can stop The Chili Fry Smasher!:

BIO: The Chili Fry Smasher might not be the brightest fighter of the bunch but he packs a mean and messy punch! The Chili Fry Smash earned his name because he is made of thick chili and his weapon of choice are the fries that he traps in his bean filled body ready to pull out during a fight. If you find yourself faced against this fighter don't come to close! His huge body is made of toxic chili that will grab and suffocate its competitor. If angered he'll pull out a fry from his body and come at you swinging!

I colored it in Photoshop. Here is the original inked version:

Making lemonade with Ms.Bunny .

On the main street of East Aurora is a very cute cafe called Taste. I visit Taste during weeknights and set up a drawing station for myself. I like to draw from life allot and I appreciate Taste letting me hang out and sketch their customers.

Fisher Price has made countless of memorable toys. My favorite was my Chatter Phone by Fisher Price. I loved my chatter phone! Before working at Fisher Price I imagined that everyone would have a working Chatter Phone on their desk. Haha!

I have completed my first week here in NY interning for Fisher Price. So far I'm feeling really confident that I can contribute a lot during my stay here and keep up with the rest of the team! Fisher Price is a great opportunity and everyone is so nice and helpful here.

Anyways I wanted to share some pictures of the Motor City comic con from May. It was Chris and my first convention with a booth and thanks to Tong and Rosemary I actually have pictures! (My camera doesn't ever work)

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak is such an amazing book. It has been cherished by millions of children for many years! Now that its been made into a movie I'm sure people will fall in love with the book all over again.
A tribute site called Terrible Yellow Eyes has been put together by Cory Godbey to recognize Maurice Sendak's amazing masterpiece, Where the Wild Things Are.
Terrible Yellow Eyes has some really talented illustrators contributing amazing work! I was very excited to be invited in all the fun and draw a piece myself! Here is mine:
